Soulja Boy is on fire these last few months. He has finally responded to the comments Gza made about him two months ago at a London concert where he said, “You have no talent…I’m not knocken Soulja Boy but they play his shit everyday on MTV in the states.” In a recent interview Soula Boy was asked if he would battle the Gza, here’s what he had to say,
I wouldn’t even rap against the Genius. I’d put up someone who was born in ’66 to go against the Genius so it can be a tie. He’s got like 50 years on me. I wouldn’t even associate with the Genius. [In the video] he was looking like I stole his money or something. He’s in Alaska. He’s cold. I just heard 50 Cent talking about the Genius saying he had an Impala his age. Well, that’s the Genius for you. [Laughs.] He has no choice. He got famous for five little minutes, but he had to sacrifice a relationship with Soulja Boy. Now it’s gone. I ain’t gonna be like “F the GZA†‘cause I ain’t never met that dude. But he says, “F Soulja Boy†‘cause he needed a buzz. Now he’s back in Alaska.
Wow. I told you guys Soulja Boy is actually looking like he wont fall victim to the classic one hit wonder guy from the South syndrome. He’s probably going to branch out into acting though, because I don’t think this guy could make another hit within the next few years. But I know all my Wu heads are going to be mad about this, and to play devils advocate so what if Gza is 41 years old? Does it make his time as an artist, like when he dropped Liquid Swordz, any less relevant in terms of music history?
