Man Makes $4000 a Month From Selling Candy?

The self-proclaimed New York City’s “candy man”, Alex “Tracks” McFarland, claims he makes $150 seven days a week selling candy on NY’s subways. What’s awesome about this story is that it’s probably true and it is a great business model (not to mention he’s a great salesmen). As opposed to other candy stores, he doesn’t have to maintain a store, so doesn’t have the overhead (I can see this guy running a huge candy store one day though). Secondly, he has the guts to stand up in a crowded subway and passionately give his spiel an candy (of all things). Thirdly, if most bums are getting a $100 a day in major cities from just laying in the street, it’s pretty commendable he’s actually providing a service. Now I hope all the attention he gets going forward won’t ban him from the subway.
