Not to be outdone by the hype around Yeezus, Hov dropped this commercial with Samsung announcing his new album titled Magna Carta Holy Grail. Apparently, Samsung paid Jay $5 each for a million copies of the album to distributed for free to Samsung Galaxy III, Galaxy S 4, and Galaxy Note II owners via a free app. The app will also have behind the scenes footage of the making of the album as well as commentary.

Jay has always been interested in changing up how albums are delivered and it seems like he trying that with this Android app. What’s interesting is how the marketing strategy is totally different from Kanye’s “no marketing” marketing.
