A few weeks ago, Drake let go the idea that him and Rick Ross we’re working on an album together. Today he confirms that the project has been downgraded to a mixtape that will be called Y.O.L.O. Drake told XXL the meaning behind the project and also confirmed that the album he was supposed to do with Lil Wayne has been shelved.
“I have been working on a mixtape with Ross,” Drake said. “A mixtape called Y.O.L.O. [That means] ‘You Only Live Once’. I’ve been working on that for the last couple of weeks. We haven’t really connected because he’s been going through this thing with his health. I’ve been stashing my little beats and verses.”
It’ll be interesting to hear a Rick Ross and Drake mixtape where they can just do whatever they feel like it. Considering mixtapes spawned both of their biggest hits, this could be something that gets a major label push one day.
