Fader did a dope piece on French Montana’s return to his home country of Morocco as well as his reunion with his father after being estranged for 14 years. It’s interesting that even though French is native to this far off place (Morocco) his story isn’t really that different from most kids that grew up in the ‘hood and that had absentee fathers. I would have liked Fader to try to get French to open up more on what it’s like coming to America when you’re 13 years old and learning English and how that would affect his rap style. I would think most people coming from a foreign country would have an accent, yet French seems to have adopted a purely South Bronx accent with a faux Southern accent. Is he just putting this on?
