Best Song: Maybach Music
Rosssssss. Ricky Ross returns with his second major album and follow up to his classic Port of Miami. The hype for this album has been way high for the simple reason that we haven’t had anything good for the last three months and let’s not forget Ross has made some hot guest appearances as of late. I myself, was amped for this album, for the same reasons stated, and practically fainted when I heard Mayback Music leak last week. Besides who wouldn’t want to listen to a man who has a Homer Simpson chain around his neck? I kid. So does Ross make a Trilla album? Check the breakdown.
This really looks like there’s going to be a real fight here. Haven’t we learned anything from the East/West coast drama? I don’t mind if these dudes have a clean fist fight, but if gats blow this will kill hip hop and I will probably close down this site. Nah…
Nothing new here, other than Papoose saying, “Cassidy ran out of the room” when Fat Joe busted in. Hilarity. Kay Slay also goes in on Jive. More hilarity.
The training part with Papoose is just homo, but this joint from G-Unit is fire.

Fat Joe returns with his 8th album, Elephant in the Room, which is his second album independently distributed through Koch [sidebar: he also apparently gets $6.50 for each album sold]. We all know Fat Joe is one of the most hardbody rappers in the game, and his street cred is unquestioned in New York City. However, as a rapper I have never really felt homie do to his weak flow and lazy lyrics. I also must admit I have never listened to a Fat Joe album and only decided to give this one a shot to see what homie had to say, considering all the “hype” surrounding the man (and besides the label did hit me off with a free copy). So does Fat Joe live up to the hype and to the title of the elephant in the room? By the way, the phrase “elephant in the room” is an idiom for something which is true but goes being ignored, in this case Joey believes he is underrated amongst his peers.
